Why We Sing Before the
Word
2 Chronicles 8
14 And he appointed, according to the order of
David his father, the courses of the priests to
their service, and the Levites to their charges,
to praise and minister before the priests, as the
duty of every day required: the porters also by
their courses at every gate: for so had David the
man of God commanded.
Who We Sing For
2 Chronicles 20
19 And the Levites, of the children of the Kohathites,
and of the children of the Korhites, stood up to
praise the LORD God of Israel with a loud voice
on high.
How We Sing
2 Chronicles 29
30 Moreover Hezekiah the king and the princes
commanded the Levites to sing praise unto the LORD
with the words of David, and of Asaph the seer.
And they sang praises with gladness, and they bowed
their heads and worshipped.
How Long We Will Stand
Nehemiah 9
5 Then the Levites, Jeshua, and
Kadmiel, Bani, Hashabniah, Sherebiah, Hodijah,
Shebaniah, and Pethahiah, said, Stand up and bless
the LORD your God for ever and ever: and blessed
be thy glorious name, which is exalted above all
blessing and praise. |

How We Got Here
Jeremiah 31
8 Behold, I will bring them from
the north country, and gather them from the coasts
of the earth, and with them the blind and the lame,
the woman with child and her that travaileth with
child together: a great company shall return thither.
9 They shall come with weeping, and with supplications will I lead them: I
will cause them to walk by the rivers of waters in a straight way, wherein
they shall not stumble: for I am a father to Israel, and Ephraim is my firstborn.
10 Hear the word of the LORD, O ye nations, and declare it in the isles afar
off, and say, He that scattered Israel will gather him, and keep him, as a
shepherd doth his flock.
11 For the LORD hath redeemed Jacob, and ransomed him from the hand of him
that was stronger than he.
12 Therefore they shall come and sing in the height of Zion, and shall flow
together to the goodness of the LORD, for wheat, and for wine, and for oil,
and for the young of the flock and of the herd: and their soul shall be as
a watered garden; and they shall not sorrow any more at all.
13 Then shall the virgin rejoice in the dance, both young men and old together: |
